After more than a decade of persistent work by the Pennsylvania State Lodge Legislative Committee, the first municipal police pension Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) in over 20 years has finally been approved.
Effective August 1, 2026, retirees will receive:
- $75 per month ($900 per year) with 5–10 years of retirement
- $150 per month ($1,800 per year) with 10–20 years
- $300 per month ($3,600 per year) with 20+ years
While smaller than we had hoped, this long-overdue increase is a meaningful step forward for our retired officers.
Please note that pension systems may take 90 days or longer to implement the changes.
